First on the list this morning was a trip to Mother's Beach in Kennebunkport...
We
caught a lobster with one claw, called a cull, that was just beginning
to regenerate its other claw. B was so intrigued with this
lobster from the very beginning that he decided he wanted to buy that
very lobster to eat (a service that they offer)...
You can't get much fresher than that.
From boat...
There was a fabulous playground right on the beach...
and the little ones loved every single bit of that!
as well as playing on the rocky shore...
and in the cool ocean...
We left the beach, washed up and headed to Yarmouth...
Thanks to fellow bloggers, Amanda and Ron, I have developed a real love of Alison Evans Ceramics and decided that since I was up this way, I just had to visit the shop!
Let me just say that it did not disappoint...
I
got to meet the artist herself and have to say that she was just
delightful, even helping to carry our boxed up purchases out to the car
for us!
If you are a fan and ever find yourself up that way, you have to stop by. You won't be sorry!
From Yarmouth, we headed to Portland to try our hands at lobstering!
We grabbed a quick lunch on the dock...
before catching our lobster boat!
What a fun experience! The little ones absolutely LOVED it. They helped pull in traps, bait them and push them back out...
and
even got to help put the bands on the claws. The captain really did a
great job of explaining everything along the way and allowing everyone
to help out and learn about lobstering hands-on.
You can't get much fresher than that.

From Portland, we made a stop in Freeport to visit the flagship L.L. Bean store, and more importantly, the BIG boot!
The adventures continue tomorrow...
