Happy New Year!
What a day! Though the first day of 2018 didn't exactly end as we would've liked it to, we had a really FUN day in New Orleans...
Hubby and L started the day with a run and warmed up afterwards with hot chocolate at The Roosevelt Hotel...
After the rest of us got going, we headed back over to The Roosevelt Hotel...
to check out the beautiful Christmas decorations...
and enjoy a taste of the famous Sazerac cocktail. Well, TWO of us, at least...
From there, we wandered down to Bourbon Street and decided on a place to eat lunch...
While waiting in line at Remoulade...
the kids noticed that people were tossing beads from the balcony right above the restaurant, so they ran outside to catch them, of course.

Turns out that the kids doing the tossing were from our neighborhood at home!
Pure joy the moment M realized that one of her dearest friends from school was up there tossing beads!
I guess you really just never know who you'll run into on Bourbon Street!
After lunch, we headed up for a quick visit and ended up running into several familiar faces up there...so fun!
M was just happy to see her buddy in an unexpected place and share a Coke...
After our quick visit, we headed back to our hotel room where we met up with a couple of Hubby's cousins for king cake...
Then, we headed over to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, ready for the big game...
Sadly, our Clemson Tigers didn't come away with a WIN tonight, but it was a pretty darn good run for what was supposed to be a "rebuilding" year...
BONUS - This Georgia Girl doesn't have to decide who to cheer for in the championship game! Gooo Dawgs!
As far as the start of 2018, I'm very thankful for a great weekend in a fun city with those that I love the most!
