{Weekend Adventure} CU in New Orleans

Wow! What an exciting season!!!

I used to say that, "Clemson seasons like this just don't come along every year", but they've started proving me wrong! Though we missed going to the playoff game in Arizona this year, we decided to make the trip down to New Orleans, Louisiana to support our beloved Tigers in the College Football Playoff National Championship!

Like every CFP weekend so far, Hubby had drill all weekend, and sadly, couldn't swing making the trip with us. So, with my mom in tow, we hit the road earrrly (like REALLY early) Sunday morning!

We made it down to my daddy's hometown, Ocean Springs, MS, late morning, dropped my mom off with my aunt and uncle, and continued on to Louisiana...

where we made it to the hotel, checked in...

and continued on over to Playoff Fan Central, our favorite CFP treat...

and had a little fun on the way back to the hotel after dinner...

before going at it all over again on Monday. We got up early and caught a streetcar...

 over to a foggy French Quarter...

 

for breakfast beignets at Café du Monde!

Afterwards, we walked around Jackson Square...

before making our way past Bourbon Street...

  and over to The Roosevelt Hotel...

From there, we took cover from the rain in a bookstore across the street...

before setting back out...

for Playoff Fan Central...

where we visited with the Fiesta Bowl trophy that we won in the playoff...



AND the National Championship trophy that we were hoping to win!



We got lucky and stumbled upon the line to get a photo with former Clemson Tiger, Hunter Renfrow, who now plays in the NFL for the Las Vegas Raiders!

From there...

 

we swung back by our hotel before catching another streetcar...

out to a late lunch at Commander's Palace...

before meeting up with Hubby's brother B, and his wife E, to head on over to the game!

Sadly, things didn't end up as we would've liked, and M checked out pretty early...

 but I'll always take an excuse to visit one of my favorite cities.

The next morning, we picked up my mom, grabbed breakfast at the local Ocean Springs institution, The Tatonut Shop...

and booked it the rest of the way home...

No matter the ending, so proud of our team... What a year!!!
