{TEEN Trip} New York City - Day 5

 This morning we Ubered down to City Hall Park to meet up with our guide for a walking tour taking us over the Brooklyn Bridge and into Brooklyn!

It was so interesting and fun. This is the second time I've done this...

and I would 100% recommend it to anyone wanting to venture over to Brooklyn...

After crossing the bridge, we toured around the very popular DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) area...

and walked back through the fairly new Emily Warren Roebling Plaza under the Brooklyn Bridge, honoring the woman that ensured the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge after the original project manager (her husband, Washington Roebling) became paralyzed...

From there, we strolled along the water...

and into Brooklyn Heights, where the tour ended by a MAP, which was brilliant (no getting "stuck" in Brooklyn like last time), and conveniently close to Vineapple Cafe where we had lunch reservations...

After lunch, we easily found our way back to the pedestrian entrance to the bridge (remember that MAP???), and crossed back over!

From there, we walked over to NYC's (newly installed) version of Chicago's "Bean"...

We got back to our hotel in time to rest a bit and freshen up before heading out to visit Wonderland Dreams...

an immersive art exhibit unlike anything I've seen before...

Everything is painted ~ from chairs and sofas...

to carousel horses...

to flowered decorations...

and of course, ALL walls, doors, floors, and ceilings...

The exhibit, inspired by the world from Alice in Wonderland, even has a fully painted "Mad Tea Party" room that includes painted clothing, hats, and tea party props...

What a UNIQUE concept!

From there, we continued on and grabbed a quick dinner before our 7:00 show - the brand new (its official opening was yesterday) "Bad Cinderella"...

We had great seats...

and decided that the show was definitely billed correctly as "unconventional", but it was hilarious, too. I didn't necessarily walk away feeling like it was something extra special, but the comedic relief provided by the queen, stepmother, and stepsisters absolutely made it for me. Needless to say, we ended up back at the stage door again!
